Adorable...animals definitely have minds of their own; it's a wonderful example too, of animals being protective of other species. Thanks for this great tale.

Ok, this reminds me of the old saw about the travelling salesman who often drove by a farm and saw a pig with a peg leg. His curiosity got the best of him one day so he stopped and asked the farmer what the story was about the pegleg-pig. The farmer sings the pig's praises; "That there is one special pig; one time when I was plowing the north forty, the tractor tipped over and had me pinned; why that pig came running and rooted around and dug me out; then one night an ember from the wood-stove ignited a rug and caught the whole house on fire; well that pig rushed up the stairs and pulled my wife and I to safety!" The salesman asked, "Is that how he ended up with a peg-leg?!" The farmer said, "No! A pig that good, you don't eat all at once!"

And before anyone turns sanctimonius, "Let he who never ate at Bob Evans cast the 1st stone!"
