“The Solly Gold house remains a striking example of Modernist 1930’s architecture. It even bore an historical plaque explaining that it was designed by Marcel Iancu, one of the founding fathers of the Dadaist movement.”

My goodness, the Solly Gold house rivals anything that Frank Lloyd Wright ever designed. Just marvelous!

Ralph, I’m sure that your journey to your roots has your mother smiling. You and I are the same age, born in 1953, and my maternal grandfather was Romanian. I think he came to the U.S. prior to WWI. Somehow the Ottoman Turks figure in his story to leave Romania.

This story is a keeper and I will go back to it often.
